Permutations: Who will qualify for the Semis on July 3 in Spain?

Spain and the Bahamas went off to a great start and they can qualify for a spot in the Semi-Finals as a result of the games occurring on July 3. Find out how here.

VALENCIA (Spain) – Bahamas and Spain and opened their FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament campaigns with exciting wins on the opening day of action in Valencia to take the first step towards Paris.

They are the only two teams who could clinch Semi-Final spots on July 3 in Spain, leaving a lot of suspense left to be unfolded in the upcoming days.

Here’s a look at the situation in both groups ahead of Wednesday’s action. We’ve done the math, so you don’t have to!

Spain

Spain would qualify for the Semi-Finals if:

– ⁠Spain beat Angola

OR

– Angola beat Spain by 44 points or less

Spain cannot be eliminated on July 3.

Lebanon

Lebanon cannot qualify for the Semi-Finals or be eliminated on July 3.

Angola

Angola cannot qualify for the Semi-Finals or be eliminated on July 3.

Bahamas

Bahamas would qualify for the Semi-Finals if:

-⁠Bahamas beat Poland

OR

-⁠Poland beat Bahamas by 10 points or less

Bahamas cannot be eliminated on July 3.

Finland

Finland cannot qualify for the Semi-Finals or be eliminated on July 3.

Poland

Poland cannot qualify for the Semi-Finals or be eliminated on July 3.
