Development and Administrative seminar for South Asian National Federations concludes in Bengaluru

BENGALURU (India) – The FIBA Regional Office – Asia organized a Development and Administrative Seminars for South Asia Basketball Association (SABA) National Federations in Bengaluru, India on March 19.

This was the Regional Office’s third National Federation Development and Administrative Seminar this year.

The first seminar was for the West Asia Basketball Association (WABA) National Federations in Beirut, Lebanon from 13-14 January and was followed by the one for the Gulf National Federations in UAE Dubai from 17-18 January.

The aim of these seminars is to continue supporting and developing the National Federations’ capacities for governance, administration, event management and communications. It’s also a good opportunity for the attending National Federation representative to learn more about the Regional Office’s special projects and social initiatives planned for the coming years.

“It’s good to return to Bengaluru and see our friends again in South Asia after three-years. The main focus of these Seminars is to give our National Federations a reality check on how they stand as well as to prepare them for this year’s busy calendar, said FIBA Executive Director – Asia, Mr. Hagop Khajirian.

The major Asian events in 2022 include the First Round of the FIBA Asia Cup 2025 Pre-Qualifiers (May 31 – June 5), FIBA U16 Asian Championship (June 12-19), FIBA U16 Women’s Asian Championship (June 24-30), FIBA Asia Cup 2022 (Jul 12-14), FIBA U18 Asian Championship (August 21-28), FIBA U18 Women’s Asian Championship (September 5-11), FIBA Asia Champions Cup 2022 (September 26 – October 10), and four windows of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 Asian Qualifiers.
