Australia basketball legend to perform Draw of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022

MIES (Switzerland) – Opals legendary point guard Michele Timms will perform the Draw of the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 on March 3 in Sydney, Australia.

The FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022 Draw will take place at 19:00 local time in Sydney, Australia, (9:00 AM CET), with the results determining which of the two groups of the Women’s World Cup 2022 each of the twelve teams will compete in.

Based on the FIBA World Ranking Women, presented by Nike, and for the purpose of the draw, the twelve teams in the competition will be divided in two pots: 

 Teams competing in this year’s World Cup, tipping off September 22, will be Australia, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Canada, China, France, Japan, Korea, Nigeria, Serbia and USA.

Following FIBA’s decision on Russian teams, the draw will feature a team “To Be Determined” (TBD), which will be drawn without geographical restriction. The Central Board will determine in due course the team from the Washington/Santo Domingo Qualifying Tournament that will participate in the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2022.

Four teams from each of the two groups will advance to the Quarter-Finals and the Final phase.
