Toupane, Lessort return for unbeaten France as 13 named for Portugal double-header

PARIS (France) – France have announced a squad of 13 players for the upcoming window of the FIBA Basketball World Cup 2023 European Qualifiers.

Vincent Collet is able to call upon 10 players that were part of the November 2021 window as France opened their Group E campaign with successive victories over Montenegro and Hungary.


Louis Labeyrie is the most experienced player amongst the squad in terms of caps and impressed in the first window of the campaign with averages of 18.5 points and 5.5 rebounds across 22.9 minutes per game.

There is also a return to the squad for Axel Toupane and Mathias Lessort, both having been part of the 12-man squad at the previous World Cup in China in 2019, while 24-year-old guard Sylvain Francisco is in line for a senior debut.

France will welcome Portugal to Dijon for their clash on February 24 before the return fixture seems them travel to Porto three days later.
