Where tomorrow’s stars shone brightly on the international stage

The FIBA U19 Basketball World Cup 2021 took place in Latvia from July 3-11, 2021, with the cities of Daugavpils and Riga hosting the action. 

16 countries vied for the boys world youth title, with USA and France meeting in the Final. 

Powered by tournament MVP Chet Holmgren and a 11-0 run in the fourth quarter, USA gained control and locked up their eighth U19 World Cup crown, 83-81. 

For France, their second place showing was a U19 tournament best while Canada completed the podium.
