Barca’s Calathes to miss 6 weeks

Prior to its Friday tipoff against Zalgiris Kaunas, FC Barcelona announced that starting point guard Nick Calathes will miss approximately six weeks of action with a broken leg. 

Calathes, 32, leads all EuroLeague assist-makers this season with 5.7 per game. He is also second on Barcelona, which has held first place all season, with averages of 5.2 rebounds and 13.1 PIR. Calathes stands 25 assists away of becoming the EuroLeague’s all-time leader in that category. 

Barcelona described his injury as a proximal fracture of the left fibula, which he suffered playing against CSKA Moscow in a EuroLeague game.
